If you were born in the U.S., you can be sure that the federal government will assign you a nine digit social security number that will remain with you throughout your life. You will need this number to apply for a job, open a bank account, pay your taxes, and many other things.
While watching TV recently, I listened closely to the story of a lady who learned that her social security number had been stolen. The victim hired a private investigator who tracked the stolen number to an illegal immigrant who had used the number to open a bank account. When the victim contacted the federal government, she was told that the government could not help her. I could not believe that the government would not help a law abiding citizen simply trying to protect herself and her family. This is only one example of why so many people feel contempt for a government that seems to have abandoned them!
Americans all over the U.S. have extremely valid reasons to fear another terrorist attack. Yet, the U.S.- Mexican Border is so poorly garded that thousands of illegal immigrants cross into the U.S. each month. It is absolutely clear to me that the U.S. government is far more interested in supplying big business with a cheap pool of labor than in protecting U.S.Citizens. The Congressional Crooks in the U.S. Whorehouse and in the U.S. Senate take care of the lobbyists and ignore the Citizens of the U.S.
I wish that I could encourage Americans to write their congressman. Unfortunately, I believe that the Congressional Crooks are the source of the problem, not the answer. I believed in the past that the great power of Congress was balanced by the power of our Federal Courts. However, the Supreme Court’s decision in Kelo v. City of New London shows me that the highest court in our counrty has no concern for the rights of individual Americans.
We need to move quickly to place term limits on members of Congress and all federal judges. We must have campaign finance reform and fair ballot access for all third party candidates. We must clean up the cesspool of corruption that now exists in Washington, D.C. by amending the U.S. Constitution to make our government responsible to all of the People.
