Hatred – The Unifying Agent Allowed In American Politics

Pascal states: ” … all men by nature hate each other.”  Also it is possible to create a devotion by activating hatred.  Martin Luther stated: ” When my heart is cold and I cannot pray as I should I scourge myself with the thought … of my enemies,  … so that my heart swells with righteous hatred and I can say with vehemence : ‘ Holy be Thy Name, Thy Will be done.’  And the hotter I grow the more ardent do my prayers become.”

Hatred is used today in the U.S. by both political parties to attract votes.  The republican party contest between John Mica and Sandy Adams has been a vile and hate filled attack by each upon the other.  Neither of these two candidates has shown any reason why a republican should vote for them.  Instead almost 99% of their literature is hatred directed at their opponent.

Hatred of Black Americans was shamefully used in the 1940’s, 1950’s, and the 1960’s in the U.S. to gain votes.

The republican party has created a hatred toward Gay Americans to gain votes in special elections.  The democrat party has created a hatred toward rich Americans to gain votes from the very people that they help keep in poverty.

Wealthy individuals who contributed to the Carl Persis Campaign contributed to a PAC that encouraged hatred toward Persis’ opponent.

There is indeed a mixture of the good and the bad who are on the August 14, 2012, ballot.  It is your responsibility to send the best to the general election in November, 2012.
