The role of leadership is of utmost importance in all revolutionary movements. However, no individual exists who can become the leader of a revolutionary movement if the conditions which give rise to such a movement are absent. When conditions are not right, the potential leader, no matter how gifted, remains without a following !
During the 1930’s, Winston Churchill was prominent in the eyes of the British People and made himself heard every day. The will to follow Churchill was simply not there. It was only when a disaster shook the country that Churchill was able to emerge as a leader.
Donald Trump has been well known in the U.S. and throughout the world for more than thirty years. However, the tragedy of George W. Bush (43) followed by the equally incompetent Obama has created such massive frustrations in the American People that Americans demand new leadership to ” make America great again. ” In 2015, the stage was set for new leadership and Donald Trump emerged !
Once the stage is set, the presence of an outstanding leader is indispensable. Without a leader, there would be no movement ! A revolutionary leader needs to display an iron will combined with the vision needed to mobilize existing attitudes into the collective drive of a revolutionary movement. The leader personifies the certitude of creed and the defiance and grandeur of power. The leader must articulate the dammed up resentment in the souls of the people. He must kindle the vision of a breathtaking future so as to justify the sacrifice of a transitory present.
The revolutionary leader must be audacious, strong in his views, and able to create a close-knit group of lieutenants who are able to assist and carry out the doctrine of the leader. The leader has to be practical and a realist, yet he must speak the language of the visionary and the idealist. In our free society, a revolutionary leader can retain his hold on the People only when he has absolute faith in their wisdom and goodness.
Donald Trump projects the image of an individual who is an amalgamation of General George Patton, President Harry Truman, Ross Perot, and President Thomas Jefferson. It appears that Mr. Trump can use this image to propel him into the Office of President of the U.S.
