Colin Kaepernick and Nike

Recently two of my articles published had news stories connected with them. ” The Pedophile Pope” was published on August 27, 2018, and 14 hours after publication, people began to call for the resignation of the Pope.  I can not evaluate what effect my article created, but it was a timely article and the subject of the article was very much in the news after publication

On September 3, 2018, I published an article titled: ” Chicago – City of Crime …”  Ten hours after publication of that article, I learned that the Mayor of Chicago stated that he would not seek re-election.  Again, I can not evaluate what effect my article created, but it was timely and the Mayor’s statement was much in the news 10 hours after publication of the article.

This article is about Colin Kaepernick who was born on November 3,1987, and was an NFL quarterback.  Mr. Kaepernick refused to stand for the pledge to the U.S. Flag and did not stand while the National Anthem was played before some NFL football games.  Presently Mr. Kaepernick is a free agent and is not employed as a professional football player. Recently the corporation NIKE, Inc. announced that it partnered with Colin Kaepernick for the ” Just Do It ” campaign.

My only comment is to ask my readers to look closely at the following statistics relating to Nike Corporation.  The ticker symbol for Nike is NKE. On September 4, 2018, Nike closed at $79.59 per share.  Nike has a market capitalization of $ 132 Billion 299 Million as of  9/4/2018.  Their ROE was 17.40%. The ROA was 8.4%. Their gross margin was 44.20% and their earnings per share was $1.18.  They paid a dividend of $0.80/share.  The top three rating services of stocks are: 1) Argus, 2) Market Grader, and 3) Market Edge.  All three of these rating agencies had a BUY rating on Nike.

The stock market can be brutal and some corporations who miss their expected earnings by just a few pennies/share, often find their stock dropping on the exchanges.  So my analysis is that I presently do not wish to state my opinion on this strange situation. However, in a month, I will publish the data as it relates to Nike Corporation. Do you believe that the value of the stock will increase or decrease ? The telephone number listed for Nike corporation in the U.S. is 503-671-6453. Mark Parker is Chairman and CEO. Mr. Andrew Campion is the Chief financial officer.  Mr. Eric Sprunk is the Chief Operating Officer.  I bet that these gentlemen would love to hear from all American citizens interested in their ” Just Do It” campaign.
